Meet Our Staff

Sarah Dugal, Area Director

Sarah grew up in Richmond, VA, and graduated from the University of Virginia in 2019 with a double-major in English and American studies. Prior to becoming the Area Director in New Canaan, she worked for 5 years at Capital One, with roles in Project Management, HR Consulting, and as a Chief of Staff.

Sarah first became involved with Young Life as a high schooler, and stayed deeply involved through college and beyond through Volunteering Leading and serving on Committees in Charlottesville, D.C, and Richmond. As Area Director, Sarah partners with the New Canaan Young Life Committee (below) to create Young Life programming, identify and train volunteers, and engage with donors.

Outside of Young Life, Sarah serves on the board for New Canaan Field Hockey and the Newcomers Club, and is a member of the New Canaan Behavioral Health Alliance.

Meet our Volunteer Leaders

Since 1941, Young Life has empowered caring adults to invest in the lives of adolescents, as mentors and friends. Young Life leaders show up to support students, talk about life and faith, and help execute Young Life events. You can find Young Life leaders cheering on students at football games, grabbing coffee with students at Starbucks, or leading Small Groups.

Young Life Committee (or Board) is comprised of local committed adults—often parents, Young Life alumni, and community leaders—who work with Young Life staff to shape the vision for how to best serve adolescents in their community. Those on committee leverage their time & talents to provide financial, administrative, and moral support to the Young Life ministry in their community.
